ANPO: Art X War, directed and produced by Linda Hoaglund tells the story of the democratic uprising against U.S. military bases in Japan that culminated in 1960, through a treasure trove of art excavated from museum storage and private collections. 1:28 min, in Japanese with English subtitles.
Following the screening, Hoaglund will be joined by critic and educator Ed Halter for a discussion about the film and the artist’s practice.
